T. Leon, I read your story on The Tish B. post and was enchanted. I'm a little ole lady now, but when I was a small child I too lived in the back woods of southern Arkansas and we ate a lot of squirrels and other things that my grand children find hard to believe. My folks use to hire out to pick cotton for some extra money and my Mom would make a cotton sack for me and my brother out of a flour sack. The sacks were about pillow case size and not made of paper either. Us kids would get 5 cents for each sack we filled. I still remember how those ole boles could stick your fingers if you weren't careful. thanks for the memories.
